Southeastern's Doctor of Nursing Practice program prepares nurses at the highest level of nursing practice. Today's health care is more complex than ever, demanding additional education for those assuming leadership roles in caring for patients and assuring quality of care. This program offers doctoral preparation to nurses whose career emphasis is direct clinical nursing practice or areas that support clinical practice, such as administration and health policy development. Students in the program have opportunities for advanced study in evidence-based practice, organizational and systems leadership, health policy and theoretical foundations for advanced practice.
Program builds upon the strong advanced-practice nursing and nurse executive tracks offered by Southeastern and other universities in the Intercollegiate Consortium for a Master of Science in Nursing Program
Faculty are recognized for their expertise within the university as well as throughout the health care community at local, state and national levels
Study plan options, including online course delivery, accommodate working advanced-practice nurses and leaders so that they can pursue the degree without leaving their job
