School of Nursing

Southeastern's Nursing graduate program is a cooperative venture among the nursing units at Southeastern Louisiana University, McNeese State University and the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. The consortium structure allows students to enroll in courses at any one of the participating universities and receive credit toward a master's degree. Students in the program study nursing theory, nursing research and issues relative to advanced nursing practice and prepare for roles as nurse practitioners, nurse executives or nurse educators.

  • All students must complete a thesis or focused scholarly project

  • Total semester hours (Family Nurse Practitioner): 40-43; Total clinical/clock hours: 720

  • Total semester hours (Family Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner): 46-49; Total clinical/clock hours: 720

  • Total semester hours (Nurse Executive): 35-38; Total clinical/clock hours: 300

  • Total semester hours (Nurse Educator): 34; Total clinical/clock hours: 525
