IHE Guidelines on Programs Abroad

The Centers for Disease Control issued guidance on COVID-19 to Institutes of Higher Education (IHEs) earlier this week that states, “Given the speed of spread and the number of countries experiencing human-to-human transmission, IHEs should evaluate the risks associated with choosing to maintain programs abroad and take the appropriate proactive measures.”

Due to the uncertainty and complexity of COVID-19, and the University’s commitment to the safety of the entire Southeastern family, international travel by faculty, staff and students for discretionary travel such as conferences, seminars and research initiatives has been suspended, effective immediately.  This suspension will continue until further notice. Decisions regarding Study Abroad will be made on an individual program basis.

At this time domestic travel is still allowed, but faculty are urged to check with host organizations before traveling.
