Current Campus Services and Resources

All Southeastern classes have transitioned to remote delivery, starting March 18, and will extend through the end of the spring semester. Campus is open, but many staff members are working remotely. There are changes to the operating times for certain campus services, and some buildings/services are not available until further notice. 

 

University Housing

Remote delivery of classes will extend through the end of the spring semester. In order to best protect your health and safety, and that of our community, the University is strongly encouraging students living in on-campus residential facilities to return home. University Housing will make accommodations for the limited number of students with a legitimate need to continue living in on-campus residential facilities. Please know, however, that services and visitation privileges will be limited going forward in order to fully implement social distancing measures. Learn more

 

Dining Services

To greater ensure the safety of our students, employees and guests during this time, the Mane Dish will only be offering "To Go" meals during the pickup times listed below. 
Brunch: 9:30 - 11:30 am
Lunch: 11 am - 2 pm
Dinner: 4 - 6 pm

Textbook Rental/University Bookstore 

The University Bookstore and Textbook Rental are closed until further notice.  Orders can be placed for the Bookstore online.  Free shipping is available on all orders. If you require Bookstore assistance, please email bookstore@southeastern. edu.
 
If you need to check out a rental textbook, please email textbooks@southeastern. edu.  Your books will be shipped to you at no charge.
 
The return deadline for Spring 2020 rental books will be adjusted.  More information will be emailed to all students regarding the textbook rental deadline extension.

 

University Health Center

The University Health Center is temporarily suspending all online scheduling. If you need to be seen, please call to schedule an appointment: 985-549-2242.

The UHC will not have access to COVID-19 testing. The testing done for the immediate region will be done by North Oaks Health System. This is a planned and coordinated effort to maximize the use of limited testing resources. Southeastern does have a plan in place for further developments of the spread of the virus and will enact those if the need occurs.

 

University Counseling Center

Due to increased concerns over the health and safety of our student population, all face to face counseling sessions at the University Counseling Center have been suspended until further notice. The staff of the Counseling Center is currently exploring remedies for the ongoing concerns our clients are facing as the University is adapting to this ever developing situation. Please continue to check the website for client updates over the coming days.

 

Sims Library

Effective Thursday, March 19, Sims Library will be closed to students, faculty and the public. Most of our services and hundreds of thousands of books and journal articles are available online. Please visit the Library's website to find information about online services, access to online materials, 24/7 online reference chat, interlibrary loans, and other resources.  Books will be automatically renewed until the end of the semester. You can also visit Sims Library LibGuides to find information on using the Sims Library during the COVID-19 closure.

 

Computer Labs

The Student Technology Center in Fayard will operate from 7:30 am to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7:30 am to 12:30 pm on Friday. Students who are not remaining on campus and do not have access to an electronic device or the internet, should communicate their individual situation to their faculty members.

 

Southeastern Food Pantry

The Southeastern Food Pantry will be closed for the remainder of the semester. However, thanks to a newly formed partnership between the Southeastern Foundation, Student Affairs and SLU Wesley, students needing food assistance can visit the Wesley, located just off campus at 307 W. Dakota St., for prepackaged food bags. The service will be available on Mondays and Thursdays between 1 - 3 pm and Fridays between 10 am - 12 pm Students will need to provide a Southeastern ID when picking up food.

The Wesley Foundation also provides in-person lunches to the community on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between 11:30 am - 1:30 pm. Stop by 307 W. Dakota Street to pick up a to go box. Follow SLU Wesley on Instagram for updates to this schedule. 

 

Center for Student Success Tutoring

The Tutoring Center is closed for in-person tutoring appointments. The Center is offering online, drop-in tutoring sessions for some classes. Please see website for additional information.

 

The Document Source

Effective Thursday, March 19, The Document Source Print & Mail Center will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays from 10 am - 2 pm. 

 

The REC

The REC Center and pool are closed till further notice. Paid memberships will be extended.

 

Financial Aid

The Southeastern Financial Aid disbursement schedule has not been changed.

 

Office of Testing

Students should work with their instructor on arranging appropriate accommodations for online courses. The Office of Testing is closed until further notice. Please email testing@southeastern.edu with any questions.
