Student Worker & Graduate Assistant Information

Graduate Assistants

  • All graduate assistants will be allowed to continue working.

  • Graduate Assistants will be allowed to work remotely if approved by the supervisor in advance. The supervisor will be responsible for certifying time. In addition, a Telecommuting Form will be required as follows:

    • Professional Service Assistant (PSA) – form is required

    • Administrative Assistant (AA) – form is required

    • Graduate Teaching Fellow (GTF) – form is not required

    • Teaching Assistant (TA) – form is not required

    • Research Assistant (RA) – form is not required

  • Graduate Assistants may be assigned to perform other duties as deemed appropriate and in the best interest of the University.

 

Student Workers

  • Budget Unit Heads and Supervisors remain responsible for ensuring student labor expenditures do not exceed departmental budget allocations.

  • All student workers will be allowed to continue working.

  • Student Workers may be allowed to work during a previously scheduled class time IF the class will not meet online at that time. The student must provide documentation to the supervisor of the class change before being allowed to work. The system functionality preventing students from clocking in while scheduled to be in class will be temporarily disabled.

  • Student Workers will be allowed to work remotely if approved by the supervisor in advance and a telecommuting form has been completed and approved. The supervisor will be responsible for certifying time.

  • Student Workers may be assigned to perform other duties as deemed appropriate and in the best interest of the University. The supervisor maintains the responsibility of certifying all time.

  • Student Workers will remain limited to working no more than 25 hours per week.

 

These changes are in effect immediately and will remain in effect until officially rescinded.
