The Southeastern Louisiana University Chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma (the honor society for colleges or universities with AACSB International accreditation) was recently named an Exemplary Chapter. This award is presented annually to chapters whose activities and programs during the previous academic year promote the purposes of Beta Gamma Sigma and enhance the value of membership in Beta Gamma Sigma on their campuses.
In receiving this designation, Southeastern's chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma has been awarded a certificate recognizing the accomplishment and has qualified to participate in the annual scholarship program which awards scholarships to deserving student members. The scholarship program provides a $1,000 scholarship to a student member from each local chapter that achieves exemplary status and whose Dean's office provides $500 in matching funds to the Society's $500 contribution.
This is the 11th year that Southeastern's chapter has been named an Exemplary Chapter. Ms. Kris Jones, left, serves as faculty advisor and Ms. Anna Bass, right, serves as faculty president of the Southeastern chapter of Beta Gamma Sigma.
