SHRM Chapter Receives Student Chapter Award
Southeastern Louisiana University SHRM Student Chapter Receives Outstanding Student Chapter Award
Hammond, Louisiana, May 27, 2014 — The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) has awarded a 2013-2014 Outstanding Student Chapter designation to the Southeastern Louisiana University SHRM student chapter.
This designation was awarded to a select number of SHRM student chapters whose programs and activities were at a level that distinguished them from other chapters. This award represents significant achievement in one of five categories: Recruitment, Programming/Education, Innovation/Technology, Campus/Community Service or Promotion of Assurance of Learning Assessment.
The Southeastern Louisiana University SHRM student chapter spent this past award year focusing on volunteerism and how it could make a difference in the community. Efforts such as volunteering for its sponsoring chapter, the NRHRA, at events like their Annual Forum and HR Games gave members a chance to meet HR professionals in their field while they donated their time. A group of members were able to make a difference in the community by participating in the Big Event this year. A group of 5 members went to Hammond Westside Montessori and cleaned up around the school for the benefit of the teachers and administrators.
