Communication and Media Studies
Our Communication and Media Studies degree programs feature interdisciplinary, experiential curricula that prepare our majors and minors for careers to meet today's workforce demands.
Our communication students receive educational opportunities in a wide range of areas, including speech fundamentals and interpersonal communication, media writing, production and direction, organizational communication, public relations, and all forms of internet and digital communication. And all students have access to state-of-the-art broadcast facilities in radio and television.
Students compete in the Southeast Journalism Conference every year winning in categories ranging from News Writing to Journalistic Ethics to Broadcast Performance. In 2013, Southeastern's Communication students won the championship.
