The Big Easy: Making Leadership Easy

58th Annual Conference

Friday-Sunday, October 6-8, 2017
New Orleans, Louisiana

Welcome from SRCEA’s Program Chair

Welcome SRCEA Members:

I look forward to seeing you in THE BIG EASY! Southeastern Louisiana University is proud to host the 58th annual SRCEA Conference in New Orleans.  It is great to be a member of SRCEA and in the field of educational leadership. The conference theme is THE BIG EASY: MAKING LEADERSHIP EASY. Our goal is that the sessions and speakers at this conference will provide new ideas and tools for you to take back and use in educational leadership.

Education is confronting many changes and challenges at the state, national, and international levels. New Orleans Parish knows first-hand about educational change, as its entire K-12 structure has changed. This impacts the local Colleges of Education and Departments of Educational Leadership. Although change can be frightening, the sphere of educational administration preparation is a rewarding place to work.  SRCEA and this conference are committed to bringing brilliant members together in diverse presentations that will recharge and edify everyone in attendance – making leadership easier.

Over the three day conference, a whirlwind of topics and sessions will be offered to recharge you as a professional. Our theme promises new and exciting ideas to help innovate and master effective school leadership. Educational leaders are transforming their ability to meet and exceed the goals of their schools, and postsecondary leaders continue to rise-up to and surpass the challenges of our field. After the conference each day, New Orleans offers good food, good music, art, and things to do.

On behalf of the SRCEA’s Board of Directors, I want to thank you for attending our conference and bringing your expertise to the assembly. Together, we have the vision, knowledge, experience, and diligence to launch educational leadership discussions and practice into the future. Members like you are our greatest asset; YOU make SRCEA what we are! Please stay engaged in the conference, and BE SURE to enjoy New Orleans.

Sincerely,

Dr. Mense
