After graduating cum laude from Yale University in 1978, Dr. Henry Jones was a free-lance vocal coach and accompanist in New York City for ten years, during which time his credits include choral performances at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center, vocal recitals at Lincoln Center, musical director of a gymnastic exhibition at Madison Square Garden, and Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, including Evita, Jerome Robbins' Broadway, and The Fantasticks. He received his D.M.A. in piano (1994) from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, and was Associate Professor of music and head of piano at Minot State University in North Dakota, where he also taught second-year music theory. At Missouri Southern State University in Joplin, Dr. Jones was Assistant Professor of music and head of piano, and taught music appreciation. Currently at Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Dr. Jones teaches piano and related courses. He is a member of Pi Kappa Lambda, the College Music Society, the National Guild of Piano Teachers, the Music Teacher's National Association, and the American College of Musicians. Dr. Jones was a winner of the L.S.U. Symphony Concerto Competition, and nominated several times for best musical director by the Manhattan Association of Cabarets.
