Unkyoung Kim began violin lessons at the age twelve.  Unkyoung KimShe attended in Germany at the Hochschule in Hannover, and completed "Kunstlerishe Reufeprufung" at the Detmold Musik Hoschschule and at the Franz Liszt Weimar Musikhochschule where she studied with Norbert Brainin (Amadeus Quartet) for Aufbaustudium.  She came USA in 1998 and finished her master degree on violin and viola at the TCU and ASU. Also, she served as assistant concertmaster in NC. She was a faculty member of the Cannon Music Camp in North Carolina and currently, is Doctor Candidate of University of Illinois.   She has been appeared many music festival in Europe such as Tibor Varga, Verbier, Holland, Zagan string festival with rekowned artist Ida Handel, Ivry Gitlis, Herman Krebber, Ruggiero Ricci, and Tibor Varga. She was a winner of international competition in London and finalist in Vienna.  In 2005, her recital in North Carolina was broadcast on NC radio and T.V.
In 2006, her recital was broadcast on Louisiana Radio Station and Boston T.V station, and she was awarded for N Y debut recital by Artist International Management.  In 2006, she received Vienna International Competition and produced her solo CD and DVD in Vienna, Austria, (www.perrenoud-foundation.com) and received on "Honorary Membership Award" in Contemporary Record Society in Philadelphia. (www.crsnews.org). Her US debut recording released in 2009 with CRS label. She is directing Global Artist Society (www.globalartistsociety.com), and she had opening Peace concert of "Son KeeChung" (www.marathon1936.com) at the Parliament in Seoul, Korea.  Also, she conducted for recording production with Chopin Academy Chamber Orchestra in 2008, Poland. She was expressed as strong expression performer in German newspaper. She has been performed actively in USA and Europe. In 2009, she received Award from Son KeeChung foundation for Peace concert Project. In 2010, she became a Rotary Club member and continues outreach development through music. In 2011, she is awarded "Paul Harris Fellowship" by Rotary club and selected as Rotary club Secretary. Since 2010, she is also member of Louisiana Music Teacher Association and string chair of Louisiana National Federation of Music Clubs, string director of LNSA, and faculty of Southeastern Louisiana University.
