Alpha Kappa Delta

Alpha Kappa Delta Sociology Honor Society

Our department hosts a chapter of the Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD) International Sociology Honor Society, a worldwide honors organization dedicated to promoting excellence in the study of sociology and social problems, and other activities that lead to improvements in the human condition. The Alpha Kappa Delta chapter at Southeastern is an active student organization that sponsors research projects, community service, and other efforts that promote the study of sociology at Southeastern.

Members must meet a number of academic eligibility requirements depending on their undergraduate or graduate status. Undergrad applicants must be juniors or seniors, have an overall GPA of at least 3.3, take at least four sociology classes at Southeastern, and earn a GPA of 3.0 or above in those sociology classes. Graduate applicants must have completed at least one semester of graduate-level sociology classes at Southeastern and have a GPA of 3.0 or better.
