Academic & Career Exploration
We understand that choosing a major and thinking about a future career can be exciting and scary at the same time. The mission of our Academic and Career Exploration (ACE) Coaches is to provide support and guidance for Southeastern students in transition who are no longer served by the CSE Freshmen Advisors. As you experience transitions during your academic journey, we would love to offer our support.
Some of the services offered to our students include:
Access to major/career coaching, information, assessments, and resources
Academic coaching (goal setting, time management, study strategies, grit, etc.)
Academic checkpoints throughout the semester
Referrals to academic departments and on campus resources
These student-centered groups will provide a safe place to allow for sharing of academic successes and obstacles, while being guided by their academic coach. The groups will focus on encouragement and accountability, with students having the opportunity to mentor each other.
The Academic Connect Groups are open to undergraduate students committed to working toward their own academic progress. To ensure the same level of commitment from all participants, there will be a screening process. Groups will be limited to 4-6 students, who will all be expected to commit to the group for 12 meetings during fall semester.
ACE coaches will begin the screening process the week of August 31st and it will continue through the following week (Sep 7th - 11th), with groups anticipated to begin the week of September 14th. If interested in participating in the Academic Connect Groups, complete the intake form by clicking on the advertisement image or by clicking on the request an appointment button.
