FREE TUTORING SERVICES are available in the Student Union Annex, north entrance, to all currently enrolled and cross-enrolled students. Services are offered in core courses common to most degree programs. Available session times, courses covered, and qualified tutors vary by semester. Services will be denied to students who use inappropriate language, engage in appropriate behavior, or are inappropriately attired.
Qualified peer tutors are trained to assist you in the following manner:
A limited number of weekly appointments are available on a first-come first-served basis. You will be scheduled depending upon your availability, the requested course, and tutor availability. To fill out an application, come to the Student Union Annex north entrance to the tutoring lab area.
You will meet once a week for 45-50 minutes and may be placed in a small group of four students with the same instructor. It is important that you come prepared with necessary materials, attempted homework, and questions.
If there is a conflict and you cannot attend, you may contact the Center in advance at 985.549.2434 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org. The attendance policy states: after a total of three missed sessions (whether cancelled or no-show), all appointments will be cancelled in that course for the balance of the semester.
Drop-in tutoring is available in pre-selected math, chemistry, and physics courses. You will be able to work with tutors on a first-come, first-served basis and for an unspecified amount of time with the understanding that tutors may be assisting several students in different courses concurrently. You may attend both appointment-scheduled and drop-in tutoring. See the following list for available courses this semester:
