Hiring Qualifications and Requirements

  • Sophomore standing, with a minimum of one semester on campus, when employment begins

  • Cumulative 3.0 GPA with an earned grade of A or B in courses under consideration

  • Course content-competency to be determined by academic faculty and/or department heads; a recommendation form will be supplied by the Learning Assistance Coordinator

  • High level of interpersonal and communication skills to be determined by Learning Assistance Coordinator

  • Demonstrated history of leadership and customer service

  • Previous tutoring/mentoring experience preferred

  • Ability to tutor in multiple subject areas preferred

  • Native speakers may be limited to courses in their native language

  • Two full days of mandatory training are held each semester during the week preceding the first class day.  Failure to attend will automatically cancel an offer of employment.
