Contemporary Dance Program

Department of Music and Performing Arts

The Contemporary Dance Program at Southeastern is housed within the Department of Music and Performing Arts. Students have the option of pursuing a Bachelor of General Studies with a Dance Concentration or a Minor in Choreography and Contemporary Dance Performance. See Dance Curriculum for details.

The Contemporary Dance Program offers courses in Research, Technique, and Performance that are centered within a Contemporary Dance approach to artistic investigation.  Through auditions, dancers perform each semester in the departmental dance company, Dance Performance Project, as well as during the Fall semester with DancePerformanceProject2 (DPP2) devoted exclusively to improvisation as a performing art form.

All levels of dance experience and training are invited to become a part of our Contemporary Dance Program.
