Course Overview

Are you reluctant to use social media as a way to market your business or personal brand? Are you a late adopter to Facebook, Twitter and other social media tools being used by your competition? Does social networking scare you? Do you think social media is just a waste of company time? If you answered yes to any of these questions, this course is for you! Introduction to Social Media Marketing is for business professionals, at the beginner level, interested in creating and publishing a social media marketing plan.

Introduction to Social Media Marketing is a ten hour, hands-on course, incorporating computer lab time and lecture. Students completing 80% attendance will receive 1 Continuing Education Unit (CEU) from Southeastern Louisiana University. Class size is limited to 10 due to the computer lab instruction component.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

· Incorporate social media into a marketing strategy to reach and engage more customers

· Navigate the most popular social media tools being used by your competition

· Generate content ideas for your business or campaign

· Publish your new social media content and receive feedback

· Monitor and measure new social media efforts for their effectiveness

*Prerequisites: Student must have working knowledge of computers, the internet and email.

*Target audience-beginners age 18 and over interested in creating and publishing a business or brand social media marketing plan.
