Southeastern welcomes students back for the start of classes this week while we continue to keep all faculty, staff and students who are not yet able to make it to campus in our thoughts as the region works to recover from devastating flooding.

Temporary Unclassified Appointments

From 4-8 months (Full-Time of Part-Time)

Persons hired on a temporary appointment of no less than four months but not exceeding eight months may be separated by the University at any time. They cannot earn or take leave. They may be eligible for insurance in they work 30 or more hours per week.

The following benefits are available for Temporary Unclassified Employees hired for 4-8 months:
  • FICA tax withheld (6.2% OASDI), not eligible for TRSL/ORP, unless they are already vested from previous employment
  • Medicare tax (1.45%) withheld if hired 4/1/86 or after
  • Eligible for health insurance if working 30+ hours/week
  • Do not earn annual leave, sick leave, or compensatory leave (Board Rules Ch-III, Section XXI, E1)
  • At will appointment
  • Paid bi-weekly
