Steps that Apply to Retirement With LASERS
LASERS Retirement Estimates
Members should request an appointment and meet with a LASERS Retirement Benefit Analyst
at least a year prior to their anticipated retirement date. Future retirees should
also request an estimate of benefits one year in advance of their retirement date
and file their application three to six months in advance. The Request for Retirement
Benefit Estimate (form 5-1) is located on the LASERS website under Forms & Publications
at www.lasers.state.la.us
- Complete an Application for Retirement.
- Send letter of intent to retire to the President of the University and send a copy
to the Human Resources Office - Provide a copy of your social security card and birth certificate, as well as, copies
of each of your beneficiary’s social security cards and birth certificates to be attached
to the application. - Additional forms that may need to be submitted are:
- Marriage certificate
- Divorce decree
- Death certificate
