Temporary Unclassified Appointments
Less than 120 days (Full-Time or Part-Time)
Persons hired on a temporary appointment of less than 120 days may be separated from the University at any time. They cannot earn or take leave, and are not eligible for insurance.
The following benefits are available for Temporary Unclassified Employees hired for less than 120 days:
- FICA tax withheld (6.2% OASDI), not eligible for TRSL/ORP, unless they are already vested from previous employment
- Medicare tax (1.45%) withheld if hired 4/1/86 or after
- Not eligible for insurance
- Do not earn leave (ULS - Ch. II, Section XXL, E1)
- At will appointment
- Paid bi-weekly
