On Thursday, October 26, 2017 a student contacted the police department and reported being sexually assaulted in a residence hall on north campus on the night of Tuesday, October 25.  The subject accused of the assault is a non-student acquaintance of the student and was visiting the student and the student’s roommate on the night of the alleged assault.  The student reported the accused subject left campus afterward and has not returned.

A non-student suspect has been arrested and charged in this incident.

Students and employees are encouraged to report incidents of sexual assault, domestic and dating violence, and stalking by contacting the University Police Department at 985-549-2222.  This is 24-hour, 7-day a week number.

Anyone wishing to report an incident to someone other than the police department is encouraged to contact the Office for Student Advocacy and Accountability at 985-549-2213 or the Title IX Coordinator at 985-549-5888 during regular business hours.

The University Counseling Center is also available to all students and employees by calling 985-549-3094.

On Thursday, August 31, 2017, a student contacted the police department and reported being sexually assaulted in a residence hall on Thursday, August 31, 2017. 

A non-student suspect has been arrested and charged in this incident.
