A Message from the Provost

March 18, 2013 - Final Transition to Moodle

As indicated in my Campus Notice of May 17, 2012, our transition from Blackboard to Moodle, an open-source learning management system (LMS), will be completed by Fall 2013. To date, more than 300 faculty have received Moodle training and many courses have already been converted.

Beginning July 1, 2013, Blackboard will no longer be accessible. Faculty should export/archive all courses, files, data, etc. from Blackboard before midnight on June 30. In addition, faculty teaching this summer should plan to deliver courses in Moodle to avoid interruption of services.

The Office of Technology, the Center for Faculty Excellence and departmental Moodle Mentors have worked diligently to help facilitate this transition and will continue to provide assistance as we move forward with Moodle.

Information on faculty training can be found on the Center for Faculty Excellence's Moodle wepage: http://www2.southeastern.edu/Academics/FacultyExcellence/moodle/.

Thanks for your continued support and diligence in this important transition.
