Beyond Blue

May 5, 2020

Sometimes a single word is just not powerful enough to express something you see or feel. Gazing at the sky last Saturday morning was one of those inexpressible moments for me.  To say the sky was “blue” – was completely inadequate. It was so much more. The blue permeated my senses and my emotions –it was a “beyond blue” sky.

Today is National Teacher Appreciation Day and I am struggling for words to thank a faculty who completely disrupted personal and professional lives to ensure that our students could finish the semester they started.  You teach to empty classrooms; you make eye-contact with the eye of your web cam, instead of your students; your days are endless – as are the emails; and you “meet” students in your home instead of your office. You are a teacher, counselor, mentor, advisor, tech wizard, emotional support provider, motivator, etc. – the list goes on and on.  Finding words to express my gratitude for what you have done and what you continue to do is another inexpressible moment for me. Words are inadequate.

I’ll just say that as Saturday’s sky was beyond blue – you are beyond appreciated!

My very best,

Tena
