We Won!

December 11, 2020

The Commencement ceremonies on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week were truly a gift -- a well-earned, “championship trophy” for all!  For our graduates who navigated extremely difficult final semesters AND for our faculty and staff who made one adjustment after another to provide the best academic and campus experiences possible during the chaos and uncertainty of the pandemic.  This has been a hard-fought battle, but Commencement felt like a huge win.  Your dedication and selfless commitment to our students and our university made it possible. I’ve been visiting Strawberry Stadium for more than 38 years, it never looked more beautiful and I’ve never felt more blessed to be a member of the Southeastern family.

Campus is quieter now. While most faculty and students have started the semester break, our behind-the-scenes heroes (a.k.a. our staff) are still here and as busy as ever – closing out the fall semester, prepping for spring and addressing those “between” semester tasks that often go unnoticed. Please know that your tireless efforts are recognized and appreciated.  There would be no success without you.

My sincere thanks and very best wishes to each member of the Southeastern team!

I hope your holiday season is full of rest, joy and celebration.

My best,
Tena
