Important Announcements

Classes and Events Modifications

Southeastern is following safety guidance in planning for on-campus classes. We are still planning for a combination of face-to-face, virtual, hybrid and online. Please note that delivery formats may change as necessary depending on public health advisories relative to the Covid-19 pandemic. Course sections that contain an “F” for “Flex” may include in person, virtual, and/or online components as needed to accommodate social distancing, enhanced delivery or increased safety requirements. All fall courses are being prepared for the possibility of remote delivery should the need arise.

Appropriate changes to help ensure the health and safety of students, faculty, and staff will be made to classes and campus events. Know that your administration, faculty, and staff have been working daily to determine the exact accommodations needed. Your expectations should be set on things looking different. This means (not exhaustive):

  • Strategic social distancing measures will be taken
  • Masks will be required in classrooms and most indoor locations
  • Class formats may be altered to accommodate safety guidelines, for example - hybrid classes may be implemented which would be part face-to-face and part online
  • Meetings, events, and activities will have participant limitations
  • More information can be found on the Welcome Home: Returning To Campus page.

Academic Calendar Modifications

The academic calendar has been adjusted for fall 2020 in order to minimize large scale travel outside of the campus. Changes include:

  • Moving up the start of classes to Monday, August 17.

  • Labor Day and fall break holidays will be cancelled.

  • Students will not return to campus after the Thanksgiving Holiday and exams will be conducted remotely thereafter.

Fee Payment Deadline

REMINDER: Classes will be canceled for students with outstanding charges on Thursday, August 13, 2020 at 5:00 pm (unless you have pending Financial Aid to cover the outstanding charges). Students are encouraged to check their LEONet account for any outstanding charges. Step-by-step instructions are provided below.

Please Review The Student Safe Campus Guide

Our Office of Environmental Health and Safety has created a “Safe Campus Guide” that provides information about the work that has been done and will continue to be advanced in the weeks ahead. The Guide also provides important information about how our campus will operate going forward, keeping the health and safety of our people foremost in mind. We encourage you to become familiar with this helpful Guide and to refer to it as needed.  Please note that the Guide will be updated as public health guidance continues to evolve. For the most up-to-date news and announcements, please be sure to visit the COVID-10/Coronavirus Updates and Welcome Home: Returning To Campus pages.

Please be ready for the fall and to hit the ground running!  If you need to make sure you have the technology needed to possibly do more online work, take care of that now.  No better time than the present!
