Student Organizations at Southeastern are an integral part of campus life and one of the best opportunities for students to learn outside of the classroom. Students are provided with opportunities to gain experiences and knowledge from the classroom with the everyday experience of living and working in a society with people of varied cultures, interests, ideas and values.

What is a student organization?
A student organization is defined as a group of Southeastern students joined together in pursuit of a common purpose, which is in support of the mission, goals and core values of Southeastern, guided by a lawful constitution under the direction of chosen officers and officially recognized by the Division for Student Affairs.

Biology Graduate Student Organization (BGSO)

Description of Organization: BGSO is a social organization for students enrolled in Southeastern's Master of Science in Biological Science program.  The organization provides support to graduate students in the Biology Department, coordinates community outreach on and off campus, and engages in education outreach with local communities.

Biology Undergraduate Society (BUGS)

Future Business Leaders of Southeastern Mentor Program

Description of Organization: This organization will focus on the development of students within the College of Business.  The mentors will guide mentees through the first academic year and will get them prepared for the rest of their college career.

GRE Physics Club (GREP)

National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA)

Description of Organization: NSSLHA is a pre-professional association for students in the CSD program that are dedicated to academics, community service, and camaraderie. Description of Organization: This organization will provide students at Southeastern Louisiana University with an additional mechanism to become more knowledgeable about law school. This organization provides activities such as Moot Court Competitions, volunteer opportunities, host guest speakers. LSAT prep courses, lectures, etc., in which all work together to enhance the knowledge of law students.

Description of Organization: Spanish Club is a cultural organization whose main objective is to share our culture, language, and traditions with our students, faculty, and employees. We, the Spanish Club, are use our cultural resources and venues to unite our community through cultural interactionand communication.

Student Council for Exceptional Children

Alpha Kappa Delta

Graduate: Completion of one half-year of graduate study in sociology with a graduate grade point average of "B" or better and continued matriculation in a sociology program of study.

Chi Sigma Iota

Delta Omega Alpha

Description of Organization: Delta Omega Alpha caters to students who are interested in different disciplines within the medical field. We have 5-6 meetings a semester, each with a different speaker affiliated with a medical profession, scholarship opportunities, etc. We also go on trips to professional schools, participate in community service events, and attend workshops.

Description of Organization: Lambda Pi Eta is the National Communication Association’s official honor society at four-year colleges and universities. LPH has more than 500 active chapters at four-year colleges and universities nationwide.

Description of Organization: The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) is an honors organization that recognizes and elevates high achievers. NSCS provides career and graduate school connections, leadership and service opportunities and gives out a million dollars in scholarships annually. NSCS members are deeply committeed to scholarship, leadership, and service and as a result, are impacting their campus and local communities every day.

Pi Delta Epsilon

Description of Organization: The Rho Zeta chapter of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society was first established in 1982 at Southeastern Louisiana University School of Nursing and rechartered in 1999.  On September 24, 1999 the Southeastern Honor Society of Nursing inducted 95 members.  Members were inducted under the following categories: Founding, Community, Undergraduate, Graduate, and Alumni.  Together, we change lives and advance healthcare.

Southeastern Men's Lacrosse Team

Description of Organization: The Southeastern Men's Lacrosse Club is a sport club organization that competes in the Men's Collegiate Lacrosse Association (MCLA) against other universities around the country.
