Student Organizations

Student Organizations at Southeastern are an integral part of campus life and one of the best opportunities for students to learn outside of the classroom. Students are provided with opportunities to gain experiences and knowledge from the classroom with the everyday experience of living and working in a society with people of varied cultures, interests, ideas and values.

What is a student organization?
A student organization is defined as a group of Southeastern students joined together in pursuit of a common purpose, which is in support of the mission, goals and core values of Southeastern, guided by a lawful constitution under the direction of chosen officers and officially recognized by the Division for Student Affairs.
 

Biology Graduate Student Organization (BGSO)

Requirements for Membership: Must be a graduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences

Description of Organization: BGSO is a social organization for students enrolled in Southeastern's Master of Science in Biological Science program.  The organization provides support to graduate students in the Biology Department, coordinates community outreach on and off campus, and engages in education outreach with local communities.

Future Business Leaders of Southeastern Mentor Program

Description of Organization: This organization will focus on the development of students within the College of Business.  The mentors will guide mentees through the first academic year and will get them prepared for the rest of their college career.

GRE Physics Club (GREP)

Description of Organization: This organization will provide students at Southeastern Louisiana University with an additional mechanism to become more knowledgeable about law school. This organization provides activities such as Moot Court Competitions, volunteer opportunities, host guest speakers. LSAT prep courses, lectures, etc., in which all work together to enhance the knowledge of law students.

Alpha Kappa Delta

Requirements for Membership: Undergraduate: At least a junior/third year and officially declared a sociology major or demonstrate a serious interest in sociology with at least four regular courses in sociology completed prior to initiation. Graduate: Completion of one half-year of graduate study in sociology with a graduate grade point average of "B" or better and continued matriculation in a sociology program of study.

Description of Organization: PCM of Southeastern Louisiana University is a Christian community of faith open to all students. Everyone is welcome to attenend our weekly gaterings focused on fellowship through a family style meal and a discussion based bible study where we explore faith together in a non-judgmental environment. Through discussing and questioning our journeys we leand the love and acceptance of God. We don't think we have all the "right" answers and are open to listening to each other's views. Whether you are Presbyterian or not, freshmen or non-traditional student, all are welcome here. PCM is located across W. Dakota St. from White Hall and provides a safe space for students to relax. We hope you'll join us some evening and allow us to a share a meal and hospitality with you!
