Description of Organization: This Organization helps foster choral singing and the education of those interested in chorale type music. This Organization also promotes artistic experiences in choral music for all members.

 

Alpha Psi Omega

Description of Organization: Alpha Psi Omega is a National Theatre Honor Society for participants in collegiate theatre. It began in the early 20th century as a result of the growing interest in dramatic arts among colleges and universities throughout America, with the aim of encouraging dramatic production at every step in a person's academic career.

Arts and Culture Association

Description of Organization: Assisting Latin American students in their educational progress and adaptability within the University, providing a permanent forum between Latin American students and the community. 

Black Student Union

Description of Organization: The purpose of the Black Student Union is to inspire, educate, and stimulate African-Americans to the benefit of their whole person and their fellow brother.  Since its founding, BSU has striven to improve race relations on campus and in the community by creating an environment that is in the community by creating an environment that is receptive to African-American culture.  BSU fully stands by the unification of African-Americans but are not limited to it.  This organization is open to all students enrolled at Southeastern.

Description of Organization: Emerging leaders inspire through excellence. E.L.I.T.E. Women is a women's empowerment organization with a primary focus on mentorship and networking.  Our mission is to develop a network of women to improve knowledge sharing, provide personal and professional development resources, and encourage excellence in all aspects of life by effective methods of instruction and leadership.

Description of Organization:If anyone is interested in helping animals in need, helping our local shelters /humane societies, and or has a passion for animals and animal welfare, then they should join the new SELU Lion P.A.W.S club! The P.A.W.S stands for "people for animal wellness and support". It's a club advocating for animals and their welfare through service, fundraising and awareness. The club will fundraise for shelters/animals in need, raise awareness for shelter animals & adoptable shelter pets, collect pet toys, food, blankets, collars, and much more for our local animal shelters, as well as spread the word/message of animal advocacy and animal welfare.

Nepalese Student Association - NSAS

Southeastern Louisiana University Bass Fishing Team

Amount of Dues: Dues will be $100 every year (2 full semesters).

Description of Organization: The Southeastern Louisiana University Fishing Team will be focusing on Bass fishing and competing in tournaments across the United States. We will be competing in the MLF, ACA, and BASS tournaments and if qualified the National Championships. Our group is open to all wanting to join, even if the individual does not want to compete in the tournaments. We will have monthly meetings in which all members are required to attend. Once established we will have mandatory community service events all members MUST attend.

Southeastern Louisiana University Project Hope

Description of Organization: The organization would mainly focus on the mental health of all students at the university. It would help them gain the skills and knowledge they need to battle their mental health while trying to navigate through college. It would also help people that are battling anxiety, depression, and spiritual health. Although I know we have the University counseling center, most people are afraid to go ask for help professionally. This would be a great opportunity for many of us to come forward and see that they are not going through this illness alone.

Southeastern Louisiana University Student Chapter, National Association of Teachers of Singing

Requirements for Membership:

1. Any student at the collegiate level interested in the study of voice or the teaching of singing is eligible to be an active member.

2. Only members who are enrolled at Southeastern Louisiana University may hold office.

3. Each Member must pay their dues at the appropriate time to the Secretary/ Treasurer otherwise they will not be considered a member of the SLU SNATS organization.

4. Participation in SLU SNATS must be without regard to arbitrary consideration of such characteristics as age, color, disability, ethnicity, gender, marital status, national origin, race, sexual orientation, or veteran status.

5. Each member according to the University must have a satisfactory Grade Point Average which is established as a 2.0 GPA throughout their association with SLU SNATS organization.

6. Each member must show up to 3/4ths of the meetings established by either the President or the Advisor if not their membership can be called into question by the voted officers.

7. Thereby, if a situation arises and a member is seen as damaging to the group as a whole this member can be placed on probation until a meeting is established, by the officers, as to indicate whether or not to revoke the member's current status in the organization.

Description of Organization: An Organization of students that can meet, hold events and discussions, participate, pratice, and learn more about voice teaching as a profession.

 

Southeastern College Republicans

Section I: Membership in the Southeastern Louisiana University College Republicans shall consist of all full-time or part-time students for the current year and who are commited to Republican ideals. 

Section II: Membership shall not be denied on the basis of race, color, religion, national origin, age, gender, or disability.

Section III: Membership in the organization shall be limited to those who are registered for that semester at Southeastern Louisiana University as students in good academic standing.

Amount of Dues: $10.00 per semester 

Description of Organization: 

Section I: To make known and promote the principles of the Republican Party among members of the Southeastern Louisiana University campus and community.

Section II: To aid in the election of Republican candidates at all levels of the government.

Section III: To encourage and assist in the organization and active functioning of the Republican Party at the local, state, and national levels.

Section IV: To aid in the development of students' political knowledge and understanding of the major political parties and ideologies and thereby create more effective and better-informed citizens and candidates.

Section V: To develop political skills and leadership among Republican students as preparation for future service by them to the party and community.

Section VI: To support and promote in every way the candidates, principles, activities, and platforms of the Republican Party.

Section VII: To work to ensure the existence of a conservative form of government with Southeastern Louisiana University, local community, state, and nation by supporting conservative Republican candidates.

Section VIII: Activities that result in undue physical stress or any subtle or covert technique that will impair, make captive, or destroy an individual's freedom of thought will not be tolerated.

We oprate on the principles of participatory democracy, meaning we believe that every member's voice counts and that they should be respected by others members of the group.

Southeastern Vegans
