The College of Science and Technology through its Workforce Talent Initiative, is offering a unique professional development opportunity for our graduates. This offering allows Southeastern alumni access to a free program that would provide a direct pathway to receive Amazon Web Services certifications.  Information on the certifications are listed below.

AWS Academy Cloud Practitioner (aka Foundations)

Take the first step into cloud computing with AWS Cloud Foundations.  There are no prerequisites for this introductory course.  Non-technical staff should take this course to gain an overview of cloud concepts, AWS core services, security, architecture, pricing and support.  This course is ideal for anyone new to cloud computing such as secondary IT professionals, non-technical managers, sales, staff and customer service.  Foundations’ certification also is the required introductory course for IT professionals seeking other AWS Academy Cloud certifications.

AWS Academy Data Analytics

This course is designed for the experienced (concepts and skills) IT professional.  Participants receive advanced instruction and work through a series of case-study lab exercises on how to conduct Big Data Analytics.  Participants learn how to analyze the very large data sets and then create visual representation of that data.

AWS Certified Solutions Architect

This course is intended for individuals who perform a solutions architect role and have one or more years of hands-on experience designing available, cost-efficient, fault-tolerant, and scalable distributed systems on AWS.

There is no cost for Southeastern alumni to participate in this online based course.  Instructor led sessions will be conducted virtually and will begin on May 15th.  For more information, or to register for this course, contact the Workforce Talent Initiative at WTI@southeastern.edu
