Freshmen Admissions Criteria

Fall 2022 

To be admitted, first-time freshmen must meet one of the options below for Fall 2022 admission (except for international, GED, HiSET applicants):

  1. A minimum high school cumulative or core GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  2. Completion of Board of Regents High School Core Curriculum
         AND
    A minimum cumulative or core GPA of 2.35 on a 4.0 scale
         AND
    ACT Math score of 16+ AND ACT English score of 15+; or other score equivalent of SAT, PSAT, Pre-ACT, Accuplacer, or ALEKS

  3. Completion of Board of Regents High School Core Curriculum
         AND
    ACT Math score of 19+ OR ACT English score of 18+
         AND
    A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.35 on a 4.0 scale
         AND
    ACT Composite score of at least 21 OR a minimum core GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale

Spring / Summer 2022 

To be admitted, first-time freshmen must meet one of the options below for Spring/Summer 2022 admission (except for international, GED, HiSET applicants):

  1. Completion of Board of Regents High School Core Curriculum
         AND
    A minimum cumulative or core GPA of 2.35 on a 4.0 scale
         AND
    ACT Math score of 16+ AND ACT English score of 15+; or other score equivalent of SAT, PSAT, Pre-ACT, Accuplacer, or ALEKS

  2. Completion of Board of Regents High School Core Curriculum
         AND
    ACT Math score of 19+ OR ACT English score of 18+
         AND
    A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.35 on a 4.0 scale
         AND
    ACT Composite score of at least 21 OR a minimum core GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale

Out-of-State / Homeschool Applicants

Out-of-state applicants should meet one of the options below to be admitted: 

  1. Complete the same requirements as listed above for the appropriate semester
  2. ACT Composite score of at least 23 
         AND
    ACT Math score of 19+ AND ACT English score of 18+; or other score equivalent of SAT, PSAT, Pre-ACT, Accuplacer, or ALEKS
  3. Complete at least 17 of the 19 units of the Louisiana Board of Regents High School Core Curriculum
         AND
    ACT Math score of 19+ OR ACT English score of 18+; or other score equivalent of SAT, PSAT, Pre-ACT, Accuplacer, or ALEKS
         AND
    A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.35 on a 4.0 scale
         AND 
    Core GPA of 2.0 on the Louisiana Core Curriculum

         AND
    ACT Composite score of at least 21

GED / HiSET Applicants

GED and HiSET Applicants should meet all of the following requirements to be applicable for admission:

     ACT Composite score of at least 23 

          AND

     ACT Math score of 19+ OR ACT English score of 18+; or other score equivalent of SAT, PSAT, Pre-ACT, Accuplacer,         or ALEKS
