What advice would you give students who are struggling academically?
Struggle usually comes with feelings of discomfort, anxiety, or fear. These uncomfortable
feelings have a bad reputation, but they are actually helpful, built-in cues to alert
us that something needs to change. Experiencing struggle is really just recognizing
that what we’ve always done (or not done) is no longer serving us. It’s our signal
to develop skills to jump a little higher, push a little further, ask for help, or
discover a completely different method or path.
EXPECT struggle in college – academically, personally, socially…. Those are the
very places where you can start seeing yourself become the person you envisioned when
you signed up.
What do you love about Southeastern?

seeing familiar faces.
