Undergraduate education in one of the main missions of the Department of Biological
Sciences.
Bachelor of Science, Biological Sciences
The overall educational objective of the biological sciences undergraduate program
is to provide students with a conceptual foundation in biology and a skills base necessary
to build successful careers in industry or business or to succeed in graduate school
or professional school.
The Department of Biological Sciences awards Bachelor of Science degrees in the following
concentrations
- Ecology, Environmental, and Evolutionary Biology
- Microbiology and Molecular Biology
- Organismal and Integrative Biology
- Science Education (Biology)
- Pre-professional programs such as Pre-Medicine, Pre-Dentistry, Pre-Agriculture, Pre-Physical
Therapy, Pre-Occupational Therapy, Pre-Optometry, Pre-Pharmacy, and Pre Veterinary
Medicine generally follow the curriculum outlined for a concentration in Organismal/Integrated
Biology - Business

Bachelor of Science and Master of Science Concurrent Enrollment (4 plus 1)
Undergraduate seniors who have a minimum cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.2 on all
undergraduate work attempted may be allowed to register for graduate credit if they
meet certain criteria listed in the University of Louisiana System regulations for
students desiring concurrent enrollment in baccalaureate and master’s degree programs.
Students not meeting undergraduate preparatory requirements will not be eligible for
this program.

Stem to MBA
Undergraduate students following a concentration in business have the opportunity
to join the STEM to MBA graduate program. Click here for more information.
Interdisciplinary Minor in Scientific Computing
The minor in Scientific Computing is available to any student enrolled at Southeastern,
but it is especially appropriate for majors in the College of Science in Technology.
Individuals participating in the minor are required to take 18 hours of courses that
