About the Kinesiology and Health Studies Department

The Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies is one of three academic departments in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Our department is one of the largest of its kind in the state with over 1000 undergraduate majors, and our faculty are regarded as great teachers and active researchers. We offer a variety of undergraduate programs and a master’s degree in Health and Kinesiology. 

Undergraduate areas of study are: 

Graduate Program

Two graduate degrees are offered in KHS: Master’s in Athletic Training (MSAT) (first cohort to be admitted June 2022) and a Master’s in Health and Kinesiology (MS). Students pursuing a Master’s degree in Health and Kinesiology may elect to concentrate in Exercise Science, Health Promotion, Adaptive Physical Education, or Sport Management. Graduate assistantships are available.
