Hymel G. Falgoust, Jr. Endowed Scholarship in Theatre 
Mr. Falgoust taught in the Visual and Performing Arts Department at Southeastern for
34 years. He was one of the founding members of the local theatre group Columbia Theater
Players, and was well known for his work designing and building sets for productions.
His children and friends endowed the scholarship in his memory.

Farris Family Endowed Scholarship in Athletics (Football) 
Danny Farris is a 1972 graduate in Marketing from the College of Business who for
many years had an Allstate Agency in Hammond. He established the scholarship to support
a Southeastern football player who is from New Orleans, Slidell, Covington, Mandeville
Hammond or Ponchatoula. 

John Faught Endowed Scholarship in Athletics 
The scholarship was established by his brother David Faught ‘82  and friend Ray Posecia
‘83 along with other  family and friends in memory of David’s brother, John ‘83. John
graduated from the College of Business in Marketing and was an avid baseball fan.
The scholarship is for a student athlete, preferably baseball, majoring in a discipline
in the College of Business. 

Dorothy McIntyre Faust Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established in 2003 by Dorothy’s husband, Mr. William Bryant Faust,
Jr., along with their children and benefits a student from Tangipahoa or Livingston
Parish.

Joan Faust Phi Kappa Phi Endowed Scholarship 
Joan Faust spent 30 years as a Professor of English at Southeastern, where she shared
her love of the written word with countless students. She was deeply involved with
The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, including serving as Chapter President. Dorothy’s
husband, Mark Faust established this scholarship for a Southeastern chapter Phi Kappa
Phi member in their senior year of study.  

Bobby Felder Endowed Scholarship(Track & Field) 
The scholarship was established by the family and friends of Bobby Felder, a Hammond
native and track and field athlete. Bobby received a Master’s  degree in Education
from Southeastern. His career was primarily spent in the car industry and he was an
active citizen of Hammond, having served as City Councilman, and other community leadership
roles.  The scholarship benefits a southeastern track and field athlete. 

Rebecca Feldman Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established with funds provided by Myer Feldman, a political aide
in the Kennedy and Johnson administrations, in memory of his mother. Mr. Feldman was
a friend of former Southeastern President, Dr. Sally Clausen and the scholarship supports
a Southeastern student with need and academic merit as a consideration. 

FeLions Endowed Scholarship in Athletics 
The FeLions (Female Enthusiasts for Lion Sports) organization was established in 2003
with the return of Southeastern football to campus.  The fundraiser, Champagne Bingo,
is conducted by this group, with the proceeds providing athletic scholarships and
funds benefiting Southeastern football and all athletic teams at Southeastern.

Ruth Adams Fendlason Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established to honor his mother by Judge Don Fendlason, when he
served as a member of the Southeastern Foundation Board of Directors. Don was a Bogalusa
City Court judge from 1987-1995 before his election as judge in the 22nd Judicial
District in 1995 where he served until he retired in 2008.  

Anne M. Ferguson Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established in loving memory of Dr. Anne M. Ferguson by her friends,
colleagues, and former students. Dr. Ferguson was head of Southeastern’s Junior Division
and a member of the university faculty for more than 20 years. The scholarship benefits
a student who is a dependent of a Southeastern employee.

Judge Sheldon Fernandez Endowed Presidential Scholarship 
Judge Fernandez ‘59 served as Judge in the 24th Judicial District Court for Jefferson
Parish. In 1998, he was Southeastern’s Outstanding Alumnus of the Year. The scholarship
was established by Judge Fernandez ‘60  in 1999 for a student in need of financial
assistance and living in the Division J district. 

Judge Sheldon Fernandez First Generation Endowed Scholarship 
Widow of Judge Fernandez, Sheila Fernandez, established the scholarship for a first
generation student attending Southeastern. A portion of the funds to establish the
scholarship were provided by the Louisiana Board of Regents.

Pat K. Ferrell Endowed Scholarship in Visual Arts 
The scholarship was established by the friends and family of Pat Ferrell ‘65 to perpetuate
his memory and to benefit a ceramics major. His friends have commented, “He could
design, visualize, draw, mold, make and build just about anything that was placed
before him.”  Pat himself was the beneficiary of a scholarship as a non-traditional
student, and so it is fitting that his scholarship benefits future students who have
a passion for ceramics. 

Betty Attaway-Fink Memorial Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship supports students majoring in Communications. Betty Attaway-Fink,
Ph.D., entered college as a non-traditional student, and tenaciously pursued a career
in Journalism.  She later taught in the Department of Communications at Southeastern.
The scholarship, established by her husband, Raby Fink ‘86 along with her family and
friends, is a memorial to her passion for her academic pursuits and her students.

First Guaranty Bank Endowed Scholarship in Business (formerly First Guaranty Bank
Assistantship Scholarship)
 
The scholarship was established to provide financial support to a Southeastern business
major, who is a resident of the general service area of the bank, which has branches
in Louisiana and Texas.

Duane & Verne Floyd Endowment for the Support of Football 
The scholarship was established by Duane Floyd ‘69 and his wife Verne ‘64.  Duane
played football for Southeastern from 1965-1968 and established the scholarship to
support a Southeastern athlete at the time of the return of football to Southeastern’s
campus.

Clifford Fontenot Jr. Endowed Scholarship for Rugby 
The scholarship was established by biology instructor and rugby player, Cliff Fontenot,
and it  benefits the manager of Southeastern’s rugby team working with the Office
of Student Engagement and Recreational Sports and wellness.

Leslie Flucke Memorial Scholarship in Applied Sociology 
The Department of Sociology and Criminal Justice and the friends and family of Leslie
Flucke Ferrell ’98 ’06 established the scholarship in her memory and supports a graduate
student in the Applied Sociology program. 

Judge Leon Ford, III, Endowed Scholarship 
Judge Ford ’51  was  elected as Hammond City Court Judge in 1966, and later elected
to the 21st Judicial District Court bench in 1974. Judge Ford, a board member of the
Southeastern Foundation,  was awarded Southeastern’s prestigious Golden Ambassador
Award in 2002 for his achievements in humanitarianism. Among his many recognitions
were “Man of the Year” by the Hammond Kiwanis Club and  a Lifetime Achievement award
by the Florida Parishes Inns of Court. Because of his love for the region and Southeastern,
he also established the Chair for the Center for Southeast Louisiana Studies at Southeastern.
The scholarship provides assistance to a student majoring in Criminal Justice. 

Ginger Fortenberry Ford Homemaker Scholarship 
Ginger Ford was a homemaker and community activist, volunteer and nonprofit leader. 
She helped establish the local Habitat for Humanity and was involved in countless
other non-profit organizations.  The scholarship was established  by her husband,
Judge Leon Ford in her memory, to provide a Southeastern student with tuition assistance
majoring in a discipline of Family and Consumer Science.

Rebecca A. & J. Robert Fortenberry Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was established by Becky Fortenberry to have a legacy for her and
her husband Bob. The funds for the scholarship came from the sale of property in Amite
and is for a student from Tangipahoa Parish. 

Claude E. Fowler Jr. Endowed Scholarship 
The scholarship was created in 1999 by Susan McNeely in loving memory of her son,
Claude E. Fowler Jr. The scholarship benefits a student from Tangipahoa, Livingston
or St. Tammany Parishes.   Susan is an Emeritus member of the Southeastern Foundation
Board of Directors having served as President of the Board. 

Nora Dell Fritscher Memorial Endowed Scholarship 
This scholarship was created by the Ford Family Charitable Foundation in loving memory
of Nora Dell Fritscher, the Ford Family’s granddaughter, and the daughter of Blake
and Christine Fritscher, who was born with her angel wings on March 27, 2020. The
scholarship assists nursing students who are in the clinical nursing courses and intend
to become a neonatal or labor and delivery nurse. 

Ronnie and Bridget Fugarino Endowed Scholarship 
Ronnie ‘79, ‘81 and Bridget ‘81 met while both were majoring in Business at Southeastern. 
Active in their communities, especially their Catholic faith communities, their scholarship 
benefits a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic High School in Hammond.
