Specialized programs designed in conjunction with employers to provided highly skilled job training in a particular field.
Professional Development programs are offered for the skills enhancement of individuals seeking to improve their job performances or general understanding of a topic via seminars, clinics, short and certificate level courses.
1. Allied health in conjunction with Greater Southeast Community Hospital and the Southeast Employees Union
Beginning September 2006, Southeastern University's Center for Allied Health Education (CAHE) will open its new academic center on the grounds of Greater Southeast Community Hospital (GSCH) located at 1310 Southern Avenue, SE in Washington, DC.
Academic programs will included: Medical Assistantship (a hybrid of clinical and administrative curricula), Medical Coding and Billing, Medical Laboratory Technology and Invasive Cardiovascular Technology. Our programs can be completed in 12 to 18 months and will provide workers with the training needed to fulfill competitive job placements anywhere in the US. Further, CAHE will expand in the near future to include training in radiology technology, surgical technology, and respiratory therapy.
Note: In 2007, CAHE will apply for program accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP).
2. Property Management in conjunction with the William C. Smith Company
This program is for those interested in: the management of multifamily properties; implementing operational policies; supervising day-to-day operations; hiring and training staff; general maintenance; maintenance contracting; marketing and leasing; resident relations; property management; and compliance with codes, regulations and laws. Graduates of this program will demonstrate competence in the marketing and management of residential properties.
