The Office of Student Affairs and Retention exists to support the University's mission and goals and the non-academic needs of its students. It's primary objective is to help improve student retention. As a means to accomplish this, OSA&R staff members are required to:
- Constantly seek ways to provide state of the art services to students that they will need to develop both professionally and personally.
- Treat everyone who requests service in a courteous and professional manner at all times.
- Elevate Southeastern's profile in the community by coordinating opportunities for students to get to know neighbors, and inviting the community, where possible, to programs planned by the OSA&R.
- Work to foster a spirit of positive interaction and communication between all members of the University community. The office staff carries out many varied functions including:
- Administering Southeastern's orientation programs
- Advising International Students
- Planning activities and events
- Making counseling referrals
