Using the Library Is Easier With Expansion of Sims 2-Geaux Services

Sims Memorial Library is expanding the Sims 2-Geaux service. Users may now place items on hold from their online library accounts to pick up later in touchless transactions. Sims 2-Geaux curbside service began in June when the library was closed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to allow library users the opportunity to checkout items via pick up in touchless transactions.

“We are always looking for ways to make students, faculty, and staff feel safe and comfortable using the library,”  said Angela Dunnington, Head of Access Services. “This new option will allow library users to login to their accounts, place items on hold, and pick up later when they are on campus.”

The Holds process is very simple:

Step one: Search the library catalog for desired titles. Click the blue Place Hold button to request the item.

Step two: You will receive an email with instructions when your items are ready for pickup. *On-shelf Holds may take at least 48 hours to process.

Step three: Come to the library and collect your items.

For curbside pickup: Park in front of the library (on SGA Drive) and call the circulation desk (985-549-3968) to let us know you’ve arrived. We will ask for your W number or Library card number. Don’t forget to bring your Southeastern ID or community borrower’s card. Library staff will place your items on a designated table.

If you have questions, please call 985-549-3968 or email libcirc@southeastern.edu.

*Technology and equipment cannot be placed on hold at this time.
