LOUIS Funding Increase Saves Databases

Funding by the Board of Regents for LOUIS, the Louisiana Library Network, was increased. This allows all the LOUIS-funded databases to remain available for the new academic year.

Thanks in partto a huge grassroots effort to get the word out about LOUIS, the Louisiana Legislature passed HCR 129, which requests that Board of Regents develop a permanent funding formula for LOUIS and support LOUIS as a critical component of the success of public postsecondary education institutions. The Board of Regents has committed to funding LOUIS for$1 million this fiscal year.
