Group Study Rooms

Sims Library has 10 group study rooms on the fourth floor for collaborative study, class work and research. Study rooms will accommodate 2-6 persons and are available on a first-come, first served basis to the Southeastern community. Rooms may be checked out on the spot at the Circulation Desk with a valid Southeastern ID.

Room Facilities

Study rooms are equipped with a table and chairs.  

Wireless access and electrical outlets are available in all study rooms.

Some study rooms are equipped with a dry erase whiteboard, markers and eraser.

Use Policies

Group study rooms may be used by current Southeastern students, faculty, and staff only. A valid Southeastern ID card and a current signed study room agreement are required for access to all study rooms.

Group study rooms are available on a first come, first served basis, and limited to a 4-hour loan period. Please check out a group study room at the Circulation Desk (Library 1st floor).

The rooms are designed for group collaboration, not individual study. While individuals may use a room if available, please be gracious about surrendering the space if requested by a group.

Study rooms should not be left unattended. Do not leave personal items in study rooms. The library is not responsible for stolen or lost items.

Users are responsible for any damages to the room and its contents during use. Fines will be assessed for any damages noted or for not returning room key card. Vandalism, activities threatening or disruptive to others will not be tolerated.

Food and drinks (other than covered containers) are not permitted in the study rooms.

Furniture or equipment is not to be moved into or out of the study rooms except by authorized staff.

Group study rooms are not soundproof; please keep your voices down out of consideration for others. Groups that are excessively noisy and disturb others may be asked to vacate group study rooms.

Violation of these group study room policies may result in suspension of Library privileges. Please direct any questions to circulation desk at 985-549-3968.
