It's the most wonderful time of the year to be a Lion! Learn more about our new events and beloved traditions to plan your Homecoming Week 2017.
*Out of concern for the safety of students, faculty, staff and fans due to Hurricane Nate, Homecoming Day activities have been rescheduled to Saturday, Oct. 28.
Theme: It’s a dream come true - this year’s Homecoming theme is “Once Upon a Homecoming”!

Association sponsoring all student-related activities.
Event Schedule: There is something for everyone during our Homecoming Week festivities. Here are some
of the event highlights for students:
Monday, Oct. 2
Homecoming Kick-Off: Get your Homecoming Week started right in the Student Union from 11 am - 1 pm. Activities include snowballs, music, t-shirts, and more!
Landmark Hunt: This hunt for all of your favorite Southeastern landmarks begins on Monday and continues all week. Follow Southeastern SGA on Twitter and Instagram for the clues!
National Pan-Hellenic Council Black Family Reunion at 7 p.m. in the Student Union Mall
Tuesday, Oct. 3
Lion Up Tuesday: Show your Lion Pride in green and gold!
Can You Build It? Good question! See where your imagination takes you in this “construction” competition using non-perishable food item donations in the Student Union from 10 am - 12 pm.
Phi Kappa Phi Quiz Bowl: Watch students and faculty will battle it out in the at 2 pm in the Student Union Theatre.
Movie Night: Grab the popcorn! As chosen by our students, we will be viewing "The Lion King" in the Student Union Theater at 8 pm.
Wednesday, Oct. 4
Gumbo YaYa: It’s a Southeastern tradition! Join us for delicious food and fun surprises from 11 am to 2 pm in the Student Union Park. The 2017 Homecoming court will be introduced to the student body during the festivities.
“Minute to Win It”: Watch your fellow Lions compete in 60-second challenges at 7:30 pm in Strawberry Stadium.
Thursday, Oct. 5
Bonfire, Pep Rally and Roar Rally Spirit Competition: You can't miss it! Grab your friends and come out to enjoy school spirit around the bonfire at Cook Field on North Campus (next to the Alumni center). The fun starts at 6:30 with a pep rally, followed by our student groups competing for the best SLU cheer/chant. This is the 3rd year for the Bonfire - come out and be a part of a new Southeastern tradition in the making!
Lady Lion Volleyball: Come cheer for the Lady Lions at 6 pm in the University Center.
Lip Sync Contest: This favorite event is moving to the University Center this year and the fun begins at 8:30.
Friday, Oct. 6
Alumni Awards Evening: Join us as the Alumni Association celebrates the best of Southeastern at its annual awards program at 6 pm in the Student Union Ballroom. Tickets for the event are available online.

🚌 Homecoming Parade
😀 After the parade: Tailgating, reunions, and plenty of fun activities for the whole family, including crafts, face painting, inflatables and mobile video game unit for kids!
💚 Alumni Association tailgate, sponsored by Hammond Square, with food and drink sponsored by Fleur de Lis Title, Payment Solutions, Inc. and Gnarly Barley.
💛 Lion Walk of former players: Lion fans can cheer on Head Coach Ron Roberts and his team as they make their way through Friendship Circle to Strawberry Stadium
🏈 Homecoming Game Kickoff in Strawberry Stadium
👑 Halftime: Homecoming Queen and King crowning
🎉 After the Game: Continue the fun at Railroad Roar in downtown Hammond! an evening of dining and entertainment with specials offered by participating area businesses.
