It's that time of year - Southeastern is getting spooky! Check out this fun list of Halloween-inspired events scheduled on campus this month:

Southeastern Softball Haunted House Fundraiser

Get ready to be scared as the Southeastern Softball team presents its first ever haunted house! Enter if you dare from 7-11 pm on Friday and Saturdays, Oct 21-22 and 28-29, at the SLU Indoor Softball Facility on W. Lion Lane. on North Campus, next to Textbook Rental. Cost is a $10 donation per person.

Oktoberfest

Southeastern Housing and Dining will host Oktoberfest for current students on Tuesday, Oct. 25, from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Quad (Student Union East). The event will feature food, a costume contest, music, frisbee toss, broom race, dunk booth, festive food, and butter beer!

To participate, students can use one meal from their meal plan, pay with Lion's Lagniappe or Cub Cash or pay $8.75 plus tax with cash, credit or debit. Oktoberfest is sponsored by University Housing and Dining Services.

Pumpkin Carving with Campus Activities Board

Current students are invited to bring out their creative side with a little fall fun pumpkin carving on Wednesday, Oct. 26 starting at 11 am. Sponsored by CAB, all pumpkins and tools will be provided. Come early before the pumpkins run out!  

OcTubaFest

Southeastern’s Department of Fine and Performing Arts will present “OcTubaFest,” a free concert series on Oct. 25-26 held in Pottle Music Building Recital Hall. Featuring four concerts with Southeastern tuba and euphonium faculty and students, the concerts will highlight the often overlooked instruments and feature original works and music from movie scores.  

Fall Carnival and Trick or Treat with the Greeks

Area children are invited to participate in Southeastern's annual Fall Carnival and Trick-or-Treat with the Greeks on Monday, Oct. 31, from 5-7 p.m.  at the Pennington Student Activity Center, located at 1350 N. General Pershing.

This free event is meant to provide safe alternatives to traditional neighborhood door-to-door trick-or-treating. Although children of all ages are invited to the festivities, the event targets children in kindergarten through fourth grade and will include games with prizes, candy, spacewalks, a balloon artist, and more. Parents and guardians are asked to accompany their children throughout the event, which is sponsored by Multicultural and International Student Affairs, Black Student Union, the Office for Student Engagement, and Recreational Sports and Wellness.

University Housing Halloween Bash

All Southeastern University Housing residents are invited to the first Halloween Bash on Monday, Oct. 31 from 7-10 pm in the 3rd Floor Student Union Ballroom. Wear your most creative look for the costume contest, and enjoy music, free food, a photo booth, carnival games, and pumpkin decorating! Southeastern's Residence Hall Association will also sponsor a Halloween door decorating contest from Oct. 24-31. To enter, residents should share a photo of their finished door on Twitter or Instagram, making sure to tag Residential Life Association.
