Serving Our Students

A new national study shows that food insecurity is a big problem on college campuses. Many students in need have jobs and financial aid, but still go hungry. Southeastern's Student Food Pantry helps ensure that our students have a little extra help for those who need it. Our pantry is open to all enrolled students, and donations from the community are welcomed.

The food pantry was the first project funded by the “Phil the Pig” student philanthropy project three years ago. Staffed by the offices of Multicultural and International Student Affairs and the Southeastern Foundation with the help of students and volunteers, the mission of the Southeastern Food Pantry is to help meet the nutritional needs of our students by providing non-perishable food items to any currently enrolled Southeastern student in need.

Location: Room 109 of McGehee Hall, Room 109

Current Hours: Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and Wednesdays from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Students who wish to take advantage of the food pantry can do so by visiting during operating hours and showing their student IDs. Students can visit the food pantry once per week and are allowed to get five to seven days’ worth of food at each visit.
