Southeastern earns numerous recent accolades and awards

Southeastern continues to garner recognition for its excellent value, exceptional academic programs and outstanding student accomplishments. Here are several recent accolades and awards earned by the university:

  • Southeastern was named the top Louisiana university in a recent ranking of institutions with online degree offerings by Affordable Colleges Online

  • “U.S. News and World Report” listed Southeastern among the top regional universities in the South where students graduate with the least debt

  • For the fourth consecutive year, Southeastern was ranked a 2016 Military Friendly School by Victory Media, publisher of “G.I Jobs,” the premier magazine for military personnel transitioning to civilian life

  • The only public university in Louisiana among 125 nationally recognized schools, Southeastern was recognized with a Student Actions Award for the 2015 spring semester by the organization Purposeful Networks, which honors undergraduate schools for demonstrated student leadership, momentum and engagement in activities that positively impact communities and the planet

  • Southeastern’s online degree program that helps registered nurses earn their bachelor degrees has been ranked among the nation’s top 50 most affordable online nursing programs for 2016 by toprntobsn.com, which compares programs based on tuition and net cost

  • For the second consecutive year, Southeastern’s television station “The Southeastern Channel” was named first in the nation by College Broadcasters, Inc. at the 2015 National Student Production Awards

  • Southeastern’s sport management program was named No. 5 among the 50 Most Affordable Urban Schools for the profession in 2015 by SMG, an international sport marketing and venue management corporation that created the listing based on a review of 158 U.S. institutions offering four-year bachelor’s degrees in sport and/or fitness administration/management and located in an urban or city setting

  • The education program at Southeastern was ranked 15th in the nation for value by the National Council on Teacher Education
