Peter Boraks, a Southeastern senior majoring in business administration, is making a name for himself in the entertainment industry. Due to graduate this December, Boraks boasts an enviable resume of high-spirited gigs from Louisiana to Florida.

Boraks first ventured into entertainment in spring 2013, when he signed up for the Disney College Program as a performer at Walt Disney World in Orlando. After completing the internship, Boraks obtained a seasonal role that allows him to travel to Disney World multiple times each year to maintain his employment status.

When he returned to Southeastern that fall, Boraks visited the part-time job fair hosted by Career Services. There he learned about auditioning for the New Orleans Pelicans' game night entertainment squad, so he tried out for the Swoop Troop. Boraks was invited to become a member of the team, where he was responsible for entertainment during games to keep fans energized and involved.

That opportunity led to the next. Boraks was invited to fill in for a member of the New Orleans VooDoo's entertainment team as the mascot "Mojo." After two games in the temporary role, he was hired to be the mascot for the rest of the season, leading on-field contests, in-stand activities and more.

Boraks continued to expand his entertainment repertoire in the New Orleans sports industry when he successfully interviewed with the New Orleans Zephyrs' interactive team, the Fun Bunch. He joined the Fun Bunch as the mascot "Boudreaux" and coordinated promotions, on-field contests and the overall fan experience.

Boraks says his passion for and success in the entertainment industry is inspired by the Walt Disney quote, "I would rather entertain and hope that people learned something than educate people and hope they were entertained." He plans to pursue a career that allows him to continue using his entertainment skills to bring joy to other people.
