Southeastern's Track and Field team is on a mission – and it's not just to repeat as Southland Conference Champions. The team has set an additional goal for the spring: collect 1,000 pairs of shoes to donate to Soles4Souls, a global non-profit fighting poverty in the U.S. and abroad.

All shoes collected will be donated to Soles4Souls by way of a local small business that has committed to collecting 10,000 shoes for the non-profit. Soles4Souls will use the donated shoes to build micro-economies in poor and disadvantaged international communities as well to make direct donations to those in need in the U.S.

New, used and even single shoes can be dropped in the collection box located between the men's locker room and the Strength Lab in the Kinesiology and Health Studies building.

For more information, contact Brandon Chapoton, student assistant for Southeastern's Track and Field team.
