SBDC, chamber offering computer classes in May

     HAMMOND – The Southeastern Louisiana University Small Business Development Center along with the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce will offer a series of hands on computer classes in May. 

     The classes will provide an opportunity for small business people and their employees as well as entrepreneurs in the north shore area to receive low cost training on high demand computer programs.

     Classes, dates and topics are:

     May 9 -- Microsoft Word Level 1 -- Basic editing and formatting, using templates and wizards, reports and long documents, schedules and programs, flyers and advertisements, invitations.

     May 16 -- Microsoft Excel Level 1: Entering and formatting data, editing formulas, templates, creating financial reports, and creating charts and graphs.

     May 23 -- Microsoft PowerPoint Level 1: Creating and enhancing presentations, working with slide shows and audience materials, importing and exporting text and objects.

     May 30 -- Microsoft Outlook Level 1:  Sending and responding to e-mail in Outlook, maintaining a calendar, scheduling meetings, and working with tasks and notes.

     The cost for each class is $60. All classes will be held at Southeastern’s St. Tammany Center in Mandeville from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Members of area Chambers of Commerce will be admitted at a discounted rate.  Pre-registration and prepayment is required for the hands-on computer classes.
