HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s St. Tammany Center is partnering with Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions to offer an ACT prep program beginning in January 2008.

“This program will help high school students develop the skills for success on the ACT test or to improve their ACT scores,” said Stella Helluin, director for Southeastern’s St. Tammany Center.

The center’s ACT prep classes will be held after-school and on weekends.

Kaplan will host some free events for college bound students, including full-length practice tests under timed conditions, as well as college admissions seminars and workshops.  The first practice ACT/SAT is scheduled for Jan. 12.

“College bound students in the northshore area will now have easy access to Kaplan ACT programs, as the Southeastern St. Tammany Center is conveniently located for residents of Covington, Mandeville, Slidell and surrounding communities,” said Mark Reimoneng, associate director for Kaplan’s New Orleans and Baton Rouge centers.

Kaplan is also offering free online resources to students, including ACT QuizBank, a quick-training tool that enables students to draw from more than 1,000 authentic test questions and create ACT-like quizzes tailored to individual academic needs, personal schedule and test preferences.
