     HAMMOND – Samatha L. Adams of Baton Rouge, Angela Gottschalk of Covington, and Jason Rodriguez of Houma each received Southeastern Louisiana University College of Nursing and Health Sciences’ highest honor, the Dean’s Award, at the college’s annual honors convocation held April 26 in the Student Union Ballroom

     Adams, who also received the Emma LaDew Memorial Fund Award, was recognized by the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders, Gottschalk by the School of Nursing, and Rodriguez by the Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies.

     Three area institutions were cited with the Significant Partnership Award in recognition of their contributions to the educational programs in the College of Nursing and Health Sciences. Covington High School was recognized for its athletic training program by the Department of Kinesiology and Health Studies; the Migrant Head Start program of Hammond and the Feliciana Home Health Agency were cited by the School of Nursing; and St. Tammany Parish Hospital, with special recognition of the Speech Therapy Department, received the award from Southeastern’s Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. 

     Other students honored at the ceremony included:

     ASCENSION PARISH – Ashley Dupre, St Amant, Graduate Scholar Award in Kinesiology and Health Studies; Lara Guidry Conner, Prairieville, Graduate Scholar Award in Nursing.

     EAST BATON ROUGE – Anna Zaloudek, Baton Rouge, Graduate Scholar Award in Kinesiology and Health Studies; Aubrey Smith, Baton Rouge, Nursing Leadership and Service Award; Tim Mars, Baton Rouge, Outstanding Graduate in Health Promotion and Exercise Science; Shara Cain, Greenwell Springs, Outstanding Graduate in Sport Management; and Tammy Bihm, Greenwell Springs, Evelyn Davis Award in Nursing.

     JEFFERSON PARISH – Kimberly Arriola of Kenner, the Fritz “Tootsie” Darouse Scholarship in Communication Sciences and Disorders.
