HAMMOND – High school students and their parents can learn about Southeastern Louisiana University’s academic programs, admission requirements, scholarship and financial aid opportunities at a campus open house on Tuesday, Nov. 20.

The event will also feature campus tours, information on campus services and student life, and visits to the university’s academic colleges.

“For our annual open house, we open the doors of Southeastern to welcome future students,” said Anthony Ranatza. “Open House is a great opportunity for students and parents to gather more information on specific academic programs and to get a close-up look at facilities in our colleges that provide students with valuable hands-on learning experiences.”

Check-in for the fun and informative event begins at 9:30 a.m. in the War Memorial Student Union mall. After an introductory general assembly at 10 a.m. in the Pottle Music Building Auditorium, participants will be escorted to one of the university’s five academic colleges. The colleges -- Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; Business; Education and Human Development; Nursing and Health Sciences; and Science and Technology -- are hosting presentations and tours for students interested in majoring in one of their academic programs.

A complimentary lunch at Caymen cafeteria will be followed by tours of campus and the university’s new residential community.

Participants may register online through the link available on Southeastern’s home page, www.selu.edu. They may also e-mail openhouse@selu.edu or call 1-800-222-SELU or 985-549-5637.
