HAMMOND – Southeastern Louisiana University’s dance program is holding auditions Monday, Nov. 5, and Tuesday, Nov. 6, for a dance concert scheduled for the spring 2008 semester.

Dance instructor Dana Brewer-Plazinic said the auditions are open to campus, intermediate level dancers. Auditions will be held from 6-8 p.m. in the Kinesiology and Health Studies Building, room 153.

“We are looking for ballet, jazz, and modern dancers,” Brewer-Plazinic said. The concert next April will feature student choreography, she added.

Students can register for DNC 106 to receive one hour credit for rehearsal hours. Participants must also register for one of the dance technique classes for the spring and should have adequate dance training in technique.

Those auditioning should wear appropriate attire and bring appropriate shoes according to the dance form for which they are audtioning. Participants do not need to come to both auditions and do not need to prepare their own choreography.

Non-Southeastern students interested in auditioning should contact Brewer-Plazinic at dbrewer@selu.edu or (985) 549-5254 for more information.
