HAMMOND – The talents of Southeastern Louisiana University alumni artists will be on display during Homecoming Week, Nov. 5-10, in the Alumni Association’s Homecoming Exhibition at the Contemporary Art Gallery.

Artwork by 18 graduates will be exhibited as part of the university’s weeklong Homecoming celebration. The artists will be honored at a special reception on Homecoming Day, Nov. 10, from 3-5 p.m.

Exhibiting artists are Michael Aldana, Terry Bahm, Emily Broussard, Bianca Chumley, Jessica Danby, Eric Danby, Mike Gureasko, Barbara Hood, Jerry Hymel, Mariana Kunow, Henry McCoy, Mia Marshall, Tiffany Mitchell-Davis, Ben Netterville, John Perilloux, Nancy Perilloux, Caesandra Seawell, and Michael Trahan.

The Contemporary Art Gallery is located in the area of East Strawberry Stadium that some alumni may remember as the original student union ballroom or as the university bookstore. Gallery hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays, with extended hours to 8 p.m. on Wednesdays.

The art exhibit is just one of many rallying points for graduates returning to their alma mater for Homecoming Week. Highlights of the week’s spirited activities include the bonfire, which will be lighted on Nov. 8 at 7:15 p.m. in the field adjacent to the University Center on University Avenue, and the Alumni Awards Evening on Nov. 9, 7 p.m., at Twelve Oaks.

On Homecoming Day, Nov. 10, alumni can socialize at college, Greek, and other reunions throughout campus, enjoy the parade which will roll from the University Center to downtown Hammond and back at 2 p.m., tailgating and entertainment in Friendship Circle, and the Southeastern vs. Sam Houston State football game at 6 p.m.
